How to use email to promote your business

By The WentBack team · · 1 min read

When most people think of email marketing they picture a monthly newsletter that nobody opens. Email can do much more for a local business than that, as long as it's useful to the person reading it. The emails customers actually read are the ones about them: a reminder that they're due for a visit, a confirmation of their booking, an invitation to an event they'd enjoy, or a note on their birthday. Promotion works best when it rides along with something the customer already wants to know.

A few habits make a big difference. Use the customer's name and mention their last visit or service, so the email feels written for them. Keep it short, with one clear button such as "Book your next visit". Send to the right group rather than your whole list, so regulars, new customers and people you haven't seen in a while each get a message that fits. And make your emails look like your business, with your logo, colours and photos, so they're recognised before they're read.

WentBack gives you ready-made email templates for reminders, win-backs, invitations, reviews and updates, sent from your own domain with your branding. Names, dates and your booking link fill in automatically, and you can schedule sends or let automations handle them. For customers who don't read email, the same message can go out by text, WhatsApp, phone call or mail instead, so you're not relying on one inbox to reach everyone.
